AbstractThe increasing virulence and pathogenicity of viruses, bacteria and fungi in healthcare facilities has led to a consistent rise in nosocomial infections. These facts demand actions that ensure that healthcare workers and the general public are not unduly exposed to potentially preventable infections. This article explores the use of various infection control measures that can be used to decrease the risk of acquiring infections in healthcare facilities.
